Hello and welcome to fourth grade! We hope you have all been enjoying your summer vacation, but as they say, "All good things must come to an end." We’re finally back to school making new friends and learning new things and we can’t wait! We are very excited to start a new year with all of you! We look forward to hearing about everyone’s summer and the new experiences you have had. We look forward to sharing our summer experiences with all of you as well! This year will be a great one, but will require all of you to work very hard and put all your effort into your class work and homework. We will be looking deeper into the reading skills and strategies that you worked on in third grade. In writing, we will be working on adding voice to our personal narratives along with writing essays and reports using many different resources. In math, we’ll be continuing with the fourth grade Everyday Math program so we hope you all remember your multiplication facts! And, what’s very different from last year is that we’ll be focusing a lot on Social Studies and the people and events of the past. We look forward to many wonderful trips that will teach you even more about our country and our country’s history. Well, being a fourth grader will now require you to be even more responsible and independent than ever! It is important that today, when you get home, that you tell your parents about your day and read all of the information that we have given you today with them. Your job is to also make sure that your parents complete any forms handed out. We look forward to watching you grow academically, socially, and behaviorally. We look forward to wonderful learning days!
